If you enable autorefresh and then click on File Search in the top toolbar, it will refresh every few seconds and wipe out the text you are trying to type into the input fields. This requires the user to disable autorefresh to use this form, then enable it again when they leave.

I think you should disable autorefresh on this page, and re-enable it when they leave. Or ignore it on this page. Allow the page to work, without requiring the user to hack their way around it.

In the Rails 3 branch, I have replaced the autorefresh code with an entirely client-side implementation that can be more easily be context-sensitive to form pages. (However my new code will replicate this bug faithfully at the moment.)

This problem not only affects the search form, but any other formular on the dashboard. Run into it while creating groups on version 1.2.23
