Currently there are only initial traces of work on them. We need to decide what these are and how they work.

We’d need ways to notify people if there was a bug, even if it’s just a feed they get when they log in. It need not be email notification.

We also need a way to view the watch counts for a module, and (possibly) browse the highest rated modules. This may not be needed for MVP but is essentially how we are going to simulate ratings.

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve updated the issue title to indicate that we need to do this.

Would this work: * Module and release pages should show how many watchers there are for the module, this might be an admin-only feature to discourage gaming. * Module pages should have a UI control to let users see if they’re watching this module and add/delete the watch. * Release pages should have the same UI control as used by their module page, for convenience. * Users should have a “watch listing page” that lists the modules they’re watching and lets them remove a watch. * Users should have a “watch activity page” that shows them recent releases for modules they’re watching. * Users should have a “watch activity feed” they can subscribe to that shows them recent releases — this has exactly the same content as the “watch activity page” above, just in ATOM format.

We should show this to everyone, watching applies to a module not a release, but we can show it there.

* Module pages should have a UI control to let users see if they're watching this module and add/delete the watch.

Yes.

* Release pages should have the same UI control as used by their module page, for convenience.

Yes.

* Users should have a "watch listing page" that lists the modules they're watching and lets them remove a watch.

Yes.

* Users should have a "watch activity page" that shows them recent releases for modules they're watching.

* Users should have a "watch activity feed" they can subscribe to that shows them recent releases -- this has exactly the same content as the "watch activity page" above, just in ATOM format.

Desirable, need not be done eventually, but if it’s easy, do it.

People will probably not remember to check in and look. We may also do email notifications later, but again, not yet.

Dropping this ticket in favor of the fresher #15397 which still needs product information but is cleaner to move forward with.
