Description

There is a new way of creating commands in providers that follows the syntax:

has_command(:my_command, '/usr/sbin') do
  environment({ 'HOME' => '/some/homedir' })
end

Inside the do block there the possibility of using:

  • environment(Hash): set the ENV vars that will be available during execution
  • is_optional: flag that this command does not confine the provider

This work is in limbo and doesn’t appear to be anyone’s priority. If it remains important, it’ll come up again and get a new ticket in our new ticketing system.

Also, now that API yard doc is a thing, maybe this is dealt with.
