Description

Puppet does not have any native provider to configure the network and the routes on an node.

It would be nice, if you can configure network interfaces, default route and static routes with puppet.

On a number of platforms, routing is intimately tied to interface configuration. Per #3153 I have a module that a routing type can be built upon, but I need people testing that module before I can move forward. In addition this runs into the same issue as the network interface type; different platforms have very different ways of handling this, so the routing types will have to be defined types.

I’ve posted https://github.com/adrienthebo/puppet-network/issues/20 as a request for comments on how the network-route type should be defined; after I have more information on that I can start on implementation.
