It’d would be really great if the tool could integrate into a git (or svn) workflow where you can just build/upload a tag or branch. This would reduce the workflow-overhead and provide a good view into the changes.

David: Good idea. Once we make the site smart enough to extract all its information from metadata (#3775) and teach the tool to upload releases (#3790), we’ll have most of this in place. We’ve talked about being able to make the site and tool smart enough to kick off an import from a VCS repo. E.g., the site would let you specify a github repo with optional tag/branch/hash and let you click a “import release” to extract the needed information.
