Description

Currently the need for the anchor type is not clearly documented. I have recently received better documentation that makes this much more clear. Please consider adding this to the module itself.

James, this was my fault. As usual. =)

Eric, if you have time to submit a patch to the README or the inline documentation for the anchor type, that would be fantastic.

We’re facing down a release deadline and I likely won’t get to this ticket for some time otherwise.

The documentation internally is at: https://sites.google.com/a/puppetlabs.com/main/home/technical/puppet-modules-patterns

I’ll add this to stdlib as soon as possible as part of our internal project empathy.

Documentation Published

I published the documentation I wrote for the Anchor Pattern at: http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/puppet/wiki/Anchor_Pattern

This should help get the information out there as I needed to use the anchor pattern when I submitted a patch to the public Jenkins module.

Released in 0.1.6

The anchor type was added to stdlib in 0.1.6. Targeting this ticket at that version.
